No product is so much hyped right now, like Olaplex. Celebrity hairstylists don’t want to miss it anymore. Hollywoodstars like Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez love it and getting their hair done only by Olaplex. And if the hair gurus Guy Tang and Tracey Cunningham swear on this product, then there should be some truth behind it.
What is Olaplex?
This wonder product comes from the United States and consists of a 3-phase treatment. Olaplex promises to protect and maintain the hair during the dyeing. Very damaged hair, which was often dyed, bleached or straightend will be repaired again! The good thing is – it’s for all hair types. Dark hair can be easily transformed into platinum-blonde hair. After the application, the hair should be strong, healthy and more shiny than ever before.
How does Olaplex work?
Olaplex is 8-times patented and therefore it has the ability to reconnect broken disulfide sulfur bonds in our hair. These sulphur bonds ensure strength and shine while the hair fibers are connected with each other. The bonds will break when you do dyeing, bleaching or styling with heat. But then, there comes Olaplex and reconnect the sulphur bridges again.

No. 3 – Review
Unfortunately I didn’t used Olaplex No. 1 and No. 2 on my hair. My sister-in-law just cut all my broken hair-ends and put on some blonde highlights. For this reason, I get Olaplex No. 3 to keep my hair healthy.
No. 3 is to apply on unwashed towel-dried hair from roots to ends. A generous amount is enough, because the substance is pretty milky and oily. Afterwards go once through the hair with a comb. The application time is about 10 minutes or more. I left it in overnight to receive a much better result. My hair already felt so soft and healthy when I combed through once. I also didn’t feel any kind of twinge. After the application the hair have to be rinse out, shampoo and condition. Then just blow-dry and style them (without straightener) – ready!
I had pretty high expectations because of the whole hype. But I’m quite happy with the result. My hair feels much healthier, stronger and thicker although I have very thin and dry hair. I didn’t even have to use a hair straightener.
It’s an expensive investment, but it’s totally worth the money. Who wants to have a nice and healthy hair, have to invest in the hair. My sister-in-law entrust that to me.
But if you’re really interested in dyeing with Olaplex, should know that a lot of hairstylists don’t work with this product in Germany or other countries. It’s still too unknown for many hairstylists.
